Just two days to go!

We received from our guide Jaco, a list of youngsters’ names at the Refilwe Children’s Care Center in Lanseria. From Michael, Daisy, and Scelo — ages 3 and 4 — to Frans and Milton, who are in their late teens, we can only imagine their stories. The center is home to numerous “sets” of brothers and sisters, several with no known relatives. Mysteriously, their bright faces beam in the photos, and Jaco reminds us that Refilwe is a haven for them.

We’re stacking art supplies, notebooks for the children. The piles threaten to challenge the baggage limits, but we’re determined! We’ve committed to a luggage “dress rehearsal” well before we head to the airport. Can we handle it all? Just two days to go!!

More South African diamond appointments today. Having a mission of choosing a diamond for folks celebrating their 60th anniversary is downright inspiring — and Steve and I are only at year #37!

Then we’re heading out to gather a few more gifts. Who knew that maple syrup poses an x-ray problem at airport security!? Greater Portland Habitat for Humanity is offering T-shirts to share with the Ivory Park Habitats crew. Goodness abounds!
